2025 DGPT Championship Results: Calvin Heimburg and Holyn Handley Take the Titles

The 2025 Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship took place last weekend at the Paul McBeth–designed New London Tech and Ivy Hill courses in Virginia. Both the MPO (Mixed Professional Open) and FPO (Female Professional Open) divisions delivered plenty of drama, tight finishes, and highlight-reel shots to close out the disc golf season.

MPO Division: Heimburg’s Consistency Secures the Championship

Thirty-two MPO players qualified for this year’s DGPT Championship, each starting with a stroke advantage based on their season standings. Gannon Buhr began the event at -8, followed by Calvin Heimburg at -7, and both Paul McBeth and Isaac Robinson at -6. The starting advantage decreased from there, with the final nine players beginning at even par.

Heimburg came out strong in round one, shooting a nearly clean -9 that gave him a four-stroke lead over Kyle Klein after the advantage strokes were factored in. Buhr, despite starting at -8, slipped into a tie for ninth, while Ezra Robinson and Aaron Gossage both made early moves toward the top.

In round two, Ezra Robinson and Gossage each fired -9 rounds to climb the leaderboard. Klein slipped slightly with a -6, while McBeth and Isaac Robinson stayed within striking distance. Luke Taylor made a big move, shooting the hot round of -10 and jumping sixteen spots into contention.

The third round at Ivy Hill lived up to its “moving day” nickname. Isaac Robinson caught fire, throwing a blistering -12 to take a one-stroke lead over Heimburg heading into the final day. Gossage was right behind them at -8, and Ezra Robinson rounded out the lead card despite a slower -4 performance.

The final round began with Gossage on a mission, quickly catching and passing Robinson after back-to-back bogeys on holes 9 and 10 cost Robinson key strokes. Gossage held the lead until hole 14, when out-of-bounds throws and a missed putt led to a devastating triple bogey. That opened the door for Heimburg and Robinson to surge back into the mix.

On hole 15, Heimburg grabbed a crucial eagle to take a one-stroke lead over the field. His lead widened on the next hole as Gossage and Robinson both carded double bogeys while Heimburg picked up a birdie. From there, Heimburg maintained control to claim the 2025 DGPT Championship MPO title with a composed and clinical finish.

FPO Division: Holyn Handley’s Hot Final Round Seals the Victory

Twenty FPO players earned their way into the season finale. The starting stroke advantages went to Holyn Handley (-8), Missy Gannon (-7), Ohn Scoggins (-6), and Silva Saarinen (-5). The strokes went down from there, with the bottom four players starting at even. The field would begin play at New London Tech.

After round one, things tightened up as Saarinen, Scoggins, and Handley all finished tied at -9 once the advantage strokes were added in. Lisa Fajkus made a huge move, climbing thirteen spots to join the lead card with an impressive -7 round. It was the highest-rated round of her career at 1021.

In round two, Saarinen and Gannon matched Fajkus’ earlier pace by shooting -7 rounds of their own. Saarinen built a six-stroke cushion over Handley, while Scoggins fell off the lead card after a +1 day and was replaced by Paige Pierce. Both Handley and Pierce carded eagles on the par-5 hole 6 to stay close to the top.

The competition shifted to Ivy Hill for round three, where Saarinen managed to hold onto first despite shooting +2 for the day. Pierce and Handley tied for second at -12 overall, and Eveliina Salonen joined the lead card after moving up with a -4 round, sitting six strokes behind the leader.

The final round belonged to Holyn Handley. She caught fire early and stayed hot, carding nine birdies against just two bogeys for the day’s best score. Handley’s aggressive yet composed play earned her a four-stroke victory over Pierce, securing the 2025 DGPT Championship FPO title. Saarinen, despite a strong start to the week, finished in third after another over-par round.

Final Thoughts

Congratulations to Holyn Handley and Calvin Heimburg, the 2025 DGPT Champions! Both players capped off incredible seasons with dominant final-round performances on two of Virginia’s most challenging courses. The Disc Golf Pro Tour season may be over, but these champions left fans eager for what’s to come in 2026.
